Fizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

And so possibly one of my favourites of the summer, my fellow wine drinkers I give you ...

Vino Frizzante
Pinto Grigio delle Venezie Blush
Indicazione Geografica Tippica, Produce of Italy

Bit light at 11.5% but tastes so nice you could drink loads;)

Appearance
Baby pink, pink grapefruit, delicate bubbles, straw with a blush, inviting, 'has legs'

Nose
Christmassy - almost date? (though to be honest this could well be the fruit cake Zuze consumed before the tasting began ...)
pear and peaches
hard pineapple sucky sweet (I can't remember the exact name but I know what I mean ...)
almost sherbert
hint of orange
low to medium intensity
not particularly youthful or aged - a twentysomething bordering on thirty wine:)

Palate
pink grapefruit
sherbert from the fizz
biscuit taste of champagne
orange peel
bitter lemon
citrusy, aftertaste of peach
surprisingly short length
quite light bodied
summer punch feel

Conclusions
Summer drink
good quality
quaffable
party drink
light fun feel
would suit canapes, fruit salad, or melon and parma ham
I intend to drink lots of this:)

The Handbag wept

So I've been at a conference for most of this week.
Last night I was at the Gala dinner in the Royal Musuem of Scotland.
There was wine ... this is my tasting note.

House White, Scottish Rugby (I kid ye not)
Produced in Australia, imported in Leith (tis true tis true its the sweetest taboo ... or not)
12.5% (the only decent thing about it)

And so ...
... I got watered down wine
... I got nail varnish remover
... I got a vile aftertaste
... I got drunk
